Wemo Mini Smart PlugIn this post I will share information that I found on the Internet about the Wemo mini smart plug.

It’s time add a little smart technology to my home. My requirement is to add some smart tech to my home without spending a lot of money and to avoid adding smart technology that requires a monthly subscription.

In doing so, I purchased the Wemo smart mini plug so I could remotely turn on a table lamp located in the front hallway entrance of my home.

I was looking for something that was affordable, relatively easy to use directly from my smartphone, did not require any monthly subscriptions, could work with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant and would work using my home internet wifi.
Once I reviewed the product specs and features it was time to pull the trigger and purchase one of these smart plugs.

Being a fan of online shopping. I decided to, visit Amazon to see what I could find available.

What I found worth noting is that that was the price of the smart plug on Amazon was cheaper than what was listed in the Wemo manufacturer’s online shop.

Who doesn’t like getting more bang for your buck, I know I do, so I scrolled through the various product listings on Amazon.

I noticed there were some listings for refurbished Wemo mini smart plugs that were little less expensive. Should I go for a refurbished smart plug or one that was new in the package, never used? I really didn’t want to risk ordering a refurbished plug for my first smart plug purchase.

I have purchased refurbished items in the past and had great luck with them while realizing some savings. But, comparing the prices of the refurbished ones to those brand new would it be worth taking the chance?

This being the first go around with smart plug technology, and given that the savings for the refurbished amounted to only a few dollars, I decided to purchase a new in the box never used smart plug.

Before finalizing my purchase, I revisited the manufacturer’s website to review the main specifications and features of the Wemo mini smart plug. Here are some questions and answers that the manufacturer’s website detailed should you be interested:
